From our highly-scalable spatial index to field-based research, data capture and normalization tools, Urban Mapping believes in small development teams that quickly iterate to achieve business goals. For us, technology is a means to deliver a valuable service, so we rely on a proven stack of open source tools. We use components of two different Amazon Machine Images created by Development Seed and Stamen's Mike Migurski. Development Seed also released an Amazon Public Data Set containing Planet OSM as a PostgreSQL database.  mod_tile, which serves the tiles, is an open source Apache module developed by the OSM community. We are active contributors and sponsors of these tools, including the Graphserver project.
